Developed an important new theoretical approach to predict the behavior of metals and alloys, including transition metals and actinides in the solid, liquid, and amorphous states. He has been able to simulate and predict the behavior of materials surprising well, ranging from the diffusion of hydrogen in metals to the phase stability of Pu and Pu-Ga alloys as well as modeling the plasticity of polycrystalling metals.
