Research interests

Our research interest area is broad – mainly the quest is for a detailed understanding of interplay between charge, spin, phonon, photon, topology and explore emergent phases in quantum materials that encompasses from low dimensional to bulk 3D crystals and atomically thin nanomaterials to complex topological materials – both inorganic and organic, and heterostructures, to identify next generation devices. Primarily, the focus is on mapping electronic band structure and ultrafast dynamical properties of quasiparticles at surface, interface of functional materials relevant to cost and energy-efficient nanotechnologies. To address this challenge, photoemission technique variants such as angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), time resolved (tr)–ARPES and tr– momentum microscopy with high energy, time, momentum and spatial resolution will be utilized and developed to map electronic and structural order changes in real time.
