American Physical Society Topical Group on Instrument and Measurement Science (GIMS) provides a forum for discussion and offers professional recognition to those who advance this science in all fields of physics. The Vice Chair's main responsibility is running the Fellowship Committee that selects the GIMS-sponsored APS fellows for the following year.
