Abstract

Using the technique of two-step polarization labeling spectroscopy seven excited ¹Σ⁺_g states in Na₂ have been found. Molecular constants are derived from a Dunham expansion. Tentative assignments are made to the 3p+3p, 3s+nd and 3s+ns atomic asymptotes.
