Abstract

Asymmetric ultra-short pulse splitting measurement using frequency-resolved optical grating (FROG) was discussed. Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:saphire oscillator and chirped-pulse amplification system was used in the experiment. Pulse steepening which begins at a power level of about 14 GW and at a propagation distance less than the diffraction length was observed.
