Abstract

The advantages of converting chemical energy into mechanical work by specialized biological nanomachines are described. The requirement for a nanoscale motor can be circumvented by using microscopic force transducers. Biomolecular motors- specialized proteins with the ability to convert chemical energy into mechanical motion- have unique advantages for integrated nanomaterials and systems. The advantages of the bionanotechnology is that it can derive benefits from the biomedical research effort to cure cancer heart disease, Alzheimer, and others. The integration of biomolecular motors into an artificial environment enables us to explore new space in the development of nanotechnology.
