Abstract
The potential advantages of automated processing of digitally acquired images are presented. A slow-scan charged coupled device is used to record the wide dynamic range experimental convergent-beam electron diffraction intensity information for digital processing. A montage of the central region of the diffracted disc from adjacent MgO terraces showing the changes in fringe spacings is also shown.
