Covalent defects of carbon nanotubes: Room temperature, 1.5 μm single photon emitters for integrated photonics

Abstract

We demonstrate room-T single photon emission at 1.55 μm telecommunication wavelength with 99% single-photon purity and the shot-noise limited emission stability from covalently-introduced aryl sp3 defect sites of single-wall carbon nanotubes.
