Abstract

The authors have found an error in calculating the true activation volume using eqn (8):(Formula Presented) A base 10 logarithm was mistakenly employed in that equation, instead of the natural logarithm, resulting in the V* values shown in the original paper being lower by a factor of 2.3 compared to the correct values. The two figures below (Fig. 7(c) and (d)) show the corrected values. The logarithmic fit for eqn (5) was done correctly in the original paper, hence the apparent activation volumes, Va, are correct.
