Abstract

Time-domain spectroscopy in transmission was used to probe the vortex state in Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 thin films. It was found that c-axis correlated pancake vortices are preserved across the glass transition, and that pinning is dominated by correlated disorder. It was concluded that Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 films (γ∼), at least in the low magnetic field portion of the B-T phase diagram, behave as YBa2Cu3O7-δ (γ∼8).
