Abstract
Recent experiments have shown that there is a frequency dependence to the specific heat of liquid glycerol as it is cooled through the glass transition. We show that in a simulation of a simple Lennard-Jones fluid the same phenomenon can be observed. There is a large difference between the behavior of the constant pressure and constant volume specific heats. The former shows a pronounced drop as the temperature is lowered while the latter shows very little signature of the transition at all. © 1987 American Chemical Society.
