Abstract
Robust measurements of the amplitude and phase of intense electric fields can be carried out by using Frequency Resolved Optical Gating (FROG). An overview is given on the single shot second harmonic generation FROG characterization of the complex femtosecond pulses shaped by the liquid crystal spatial light modulator (SLM) and subsequently amplified to 1 mJ in a multipass Ti:Sapphire amplifier system.
