Improved temporal and spatial resolution in junction-mixing ultrafast scanning tunneling microscopy

Abstract

In summary, we have demonstrated 1 nm spatial and 13 ps FWHM temporal resolution using JM-USTM, where the spatial resolution is limited by the fabrication of the structure studied. This result shows comparable spatial and greatly improved temporal resolution compared to the 1 nm/35 ps temporal resolution previously reported for JM-USTM [4].
