Influence of coupling between localized and continuum states in InGaN quantum-dot systems

Abstract

This paper investigates the influence of the coupling between localized and continuum states on the optical absorption in wide-bandgap nitride-based quantum-dot structures under high-excitation conditions. Calculating the optical susceptibility in the presence of strong many-body Coulomb interactions and the quantum-confined Stark effect, we show that the interplay of these effects results in absorption/gain features that depend on the quantum-dot dimensions in a nontrivial way.
