Abstract
Experimental aspects concerning the study of the strong-field multiphoton response of matter are discussed. Highly ionized atoms can be readily generated in a small volume of phase space and molecular materials exhibit anomalous coupling with the observation of direct 2σg vacancy production in N2. © 1989.
