Abstract

The technical issues concerning the use of alternative methods to account for all-optical functions are addressed. The resolution of such issues is demonstrated in three-wave-mixing and cascaded three-wave-mixing processes based on periodically-poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguide devices.
