Optomechanics of phononic-photonic crystal defect cavities

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Conference contribution

Abstract

We present the theory and experimental realization of simultaneously localized and strongly coupled optical and mechanical modes in periodic nanostructures. The mechanical properties of localized phonons with Gigahertz frequencies and sub-picogram masses are studied via all-optical measurements. ©2009 IEEE.
