Abstract

The steady-state and dynamic gain characteristics in a KrF amplifier are studied with the use of 1 ps pulses. A saturation energy density in the range 1.8-2.0±0.2 mJ/cm² is measured. The recovery of the small-signal gain coefficient exhibits two recovery processes with time constants of 67±10 ps and 2.0±0.2 ns.
