Abstract
The dynamics of [(NC)5RuIICNRuIII(NH3)5 ]1- following MMCT optical excitation with the use of picosecond infrared spectroscopy. We monitor the terminal RuC ≡ N stretching vibrational frequency which is sensitive to the oxidation state of the ruthenium cyanide centre and, because of anharmonicity, to the degree of vibrational excitation of this mode.
