Abstract
Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy has been used to study the ultrasonic attenuation and elastic constants of ScHx, ScDx, and over the temperature range of 10 – 300 K. All three materials show an attenuation peak below 100 for measuring frequencies in the range of 1 MHz. In the case of Se a large isotope effect is observed.
