Abstract

Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy has been used to study the ultrasonic attenuation and elastic constants of ScHx, ScDx, and YDx over the temperature range of 10—300 K. All three materials show an attenuation peak below 100 K for measuring frequencies in the range of 1 MHz. In the case of Se a large isotope effect is observed.
