Surface-tethered chains entangled in a polymer melt: Effects on adhesion dynamics

Abstract

Large-scale MD simulations were performed to study the effects of end-tethered chains on adhesion in a three-dimensional, realistic polymer model. Evidence was obtained of copolymer scission, as well as a large increase in the work of adhesion, when the molecular weight of the copolymer increases beyond the entanglement length.
