Abstract

A metal-free reaction system consisting of TEMPO and PhI(OAc)₂ for the oxidative C-N coupling of benzoxazoles with NH-sulfoximines has been developed. The reaction can proceed under ambient atmosphere without any metal catalyst at room temperature to afford the corresponding 2-iminoazoles in moderate to high yields.
