TMS changes for good with enhanced volunteerism program

The TMS Energy initiative is a perfect example of the kind of forum that will help promote the significant discoveries of the materials and processes that can lessen dependence on fossil fuels. Developing the Volunteer Concierge Desk, introduced at the TMS 2011 Annual Meeting, will provide input on new volunteering opportunities and tools. Making available comprehensive written documentation and backgrounders include a compendium of resources presenting job descriptions and other background information will aid new volunteers in this decision-making process, while other reference materials will be designed to provide guidance and support to volunteers who are already serving. Devising ways to engage international attendees focuses on better reaching out to our members to show them everything that TMS has to offer.
