Abstract

We have studied the sub-picosecond quasiparticle dynamics of the layered manganite La_1.4Sr_1.6Mn₂O₇ and the perovskite manganite La_0.7Ca_0.3MnO₃ using ultrafast optical spectroscopy at 1.5 eV. The dynamics reveal the recovery time of polarons.
