Abstract

A study of vortex melting in high-Tc superconductors probed by the use of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy was presented. There was decrease of the oscillation frequency in the time domain when a magnetic field was applied. From the measurements, a new linelike liquid phase was observed in Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 films, where c-axis correlated pancake vortices are preserved across the glass transition which separates the vortex solid phase from the vortex liquid phase.
