Abstract

All-optical wavelength conversion for WDM, gated mixing for TDM, and spectral inversion for dispersion correction have been demonstrated in three-wave mixing and in cascaded mixing devices. Wide bandwidths (70 nm), high speeds (100 Gbit/s), and low conversion loss (3 dB) have been obtained in periodically-poled lithium niobate waveguides.
