Accelerator physics. Internationally recognized expert in electromagnetic problems in accelerators with 30+ years of experience. Developed new methods for calculating beam-chamber coupling impedances; new meander-based current structures for the fast beam choppers implemented at SNS and at CERN; novel efficient H-mode structures with PMQ focusing. Expertise includes design and modeling of accelerator structures, beam dynamics, halo formation, and beam diagnostics.
